Title: Surviving a Collapsed Power Grid
Post by: admin on July 13, 2011, 07:36:17 PM
Advanced Community Planning Series #5: Surviving a Collapsed Power Grid — Green Energy Consultant, Dan Dean

Mainstream scientists and prestigious institutions such as The National Academy of Science warn us that the coming solar maximum of 2012/2013 could be catastrophic in scope.

What they fear is that a one or more solar storms could collapse our national power grid. Not for days or perhaps a week, but for months and certainly longer for poorer nations.

In that event, can a few flashlights and household candles see us through? Only if one assumes a temporary inconvenience, such as rolling brownouts or blackouts.

Belated reply I am really enjoying listening to this show on the domes, going to go through it more than once.
I can really relate to what Linda Schiller - Hanna is saying about starting somewhere like getting out a map and looking at it. I have been doing this for awhile and most recently have come up with northern Georgia. Just the other day, before I ever listened to this.
I am more "drawn to" areas in South Dakota or ND, but I had to choose a location where my people on the east coast and Florida can get to in a few hours drive.
I was really drawn to the domes in previous years too...
Posted the link in old Town Hall 2009 posts.
Was wonderful to hear Michael Maxon's voice there too. Good vibrations, from all three of you on the show.
