I go thru a lot of books looking for ones I think makes the grade, and this one is rather interesting.
It deals with stretching 7 months of growing, into 12 months and give different ways to extend the season.
Also goes a little into canning (a good canning book is still a must), freezing foods, the ol time way of preserving veggies, meats, herbs and fish.
Explains how to make cider, vinegar, juices an cheese, homemade root beer, and soap from lard.
Has a few recipes for camping snacks, and ingredients for premade meals to take and cook on the camping trip, and might give ideas for making your own.
