Chris Hedges sees, in America, a nation that has lost its way. He sees a country that places prosperity above principle, celebrity above substance, spectacle above nuance and introspection. He sees a "timid, cowed, confused" populace disconnected from language, governed by consumerism, ambivalent toward the common good, enamored by an American myth that has no basis in the American reality.

David:
This is a great article. He is expertly folding the all encompassing consequences into the responsibility of the people.
This well states the intention that will begin to move forward with great strength soon. The masses are beginning to understand the wrongs, and exposure is rampant. Thanks to the internet, corporate intentions are revealed. It will become harder and harder for people to be employed by those they see as ill-intended entities. The double-life creates consternation.
There is a new moon on Jan 15 and the planet of Mercury goes direct at that time. From that point, the snowball of discontent will begin to roll a little faster building strength as it goes.
This article is a great synapsis of the snowball. That baby ought to be rollin pretty good by April.
Cheers !
