Dr. Eltjo Haselhoff's Explanation of "Type II" PictogramsYOWUSA.COM, September 10, 2001
Jacco van der Worp: If, for a moment, we were to assume that they'd been proven genuine, what would be your interpretation of the "messages" found in these circles? Not just in the Chilbolton ones as their meaning seems to be clear, but in general, do you think there are messages to mankind hidden in the circles? If so, why and if not, why not?
One sort of message is, very clearly, an attempt to express the concept of consciousness and intelligence, in a very basic language. Here I do not refer to the beautiful pictograms that appear each year, but rather to the apparently simple diagrams made out of circles, rings and bars. I use to call these "type II formations". These pictograms have been shown many times to contain basic but sophisticated mathematical theorems, that do not have a trivial origin - they were created on purpose. The interesting thing is that this information is hidden in the diagrams, and can only be revealed after a quite tedious analysis.
Many agree with me that most of the pictograms are quite mystical (again, I mainly refer to the "type II" pictograms). They have something very strange, something bizarre, something that makes you keep looking at them. The interesting thing is, that this affect disappears as soon as you change any little detail in the pictograms. For example change the angle of a bar or the diameter of a ring and the effect is gone. Whoever makes these things, they have been very careful designed to be in resonance with human perception. That is quite an accomplishment. Menorah Crop Circle, Barbury Castle, Wiltshire

The Menorah is not a candelabrum. Its precise form was given to Moses centuries before candles existed. It could more properly be called a lamp stand. On top of the central column and each of the six curved arms was an oil lamp in the form of an almond blossom. The satellite figure at the top is not a Scarab Beetle but a composite rendering of the utensils required for tending the flames of the lamp in the Temple. The formation was beautifully laid, though as always in barley there has been a marked deterioration in its precision a it grows back towards the sky. Early visitors to the site report a powerful energy. The Noise Room, May 1999 Date Formed: Unknown
Entering the formation brings a feeling of calm as the barley waves lazily in the breeze. This formation is huge, we are unsure of its exact dimensions as on this expedition there was only one of us making measuring difficult. What makes this formation so impressive is that standing at either end one can see the formation stretching off into ones peripheral vision. The lay in the formation, as in many barley circles, looks slightly messy or abstract due to the shape of the crop head, giving the impression that the crop is not lying in one direction. However in the 'arms' of the formation the crop appears to be almost parted along the center and being brushed to the edges. Unfortunately the formation looks as though it has had its fair share of visitors and this effect can only be seen in some places. The 'beetle' part of the formation is similarly impressive however it does not seem as elegant as the main part of the circle. The crop itself looked surprisingly undamaged despite the obvious pounding it has had from many pairs of muddy feet. Well worth a visit or at least a view from the top of Barbury Castle. The main design is a strong resemblance to the Menorah, which is used in Jewish worship, and is seen as the most comprehensive biblical symbol of the church. But this design appears to have slight alterations, especially at the base, where we find spikes instead of a normal base. This is certainly a follow on from the Cabalistic Tree of life, and if we are to interpret this design as we see it, then what could be located within this field could be representing the seven spirits of God.
If we start at the very base of the Menorah, the very bottom circle has an anti clockwise rotation, with the main stem flowing towards the base from the very top circle. The second circle from the base has an anti clockwise rotation with a raise nest center. If we start from the outer left side of the Menorah; the top circle has anticlockwise rotation. The second top circle from the left has an anticlockwise rotation. The third circle from the left has also an anti clockwise rotation, which had the best of the centers. The forth circle at the very top of the main axis has a clockwise rotation. If we move towards the right hand side of the formation, the rotations of the circles change to clockwise. What significance this has is not understood at this stage, but nevertheless must have some meaning from the left to right. YOWUSA.COM, August 31, 2001
The stated objective of SETI is to establish communications with an extraterrestrial intelligence. Now that their 1974 Arecibo message seems to be answered, the possibility that SETI has achieved its goal is unwelcome news for SETI. If these crop circles are real, then SETI will have achieved its goal and there goes its funding. Consequently, their response has is more about their own financial self-interest, as opposed to science. On the other hand, the real science of analyzing these crop circles continues, as dedicated, reputable researchers like as Dr Eltjo Haselhoff continue the process of validation. Even though Dr Haselhof warns us that we lack sufficient analysis to form a judgment at this time, he does state that these new crop circles "reveal a ‘quantum leap' in crop circle design." This report contains the first answers from Dr Eltjo Haselhoff of the Dutch Centre for Crop Circle Studies. Founded in 1994 by ex-chairman Herman Hegge, and with a current number of 25 active volunteer members, the DCCCS is the oldest and the largest crop circle research group in the Netherlands. The DCCCS is chaired by Dr. Haselhoff. -----Original Message----- From: Eltjo Haselhoff Jacco van der Worp: Have you seen the crop circle that looks like a Menorah, a Hebrew candle with 7 arms, and a little symbol above it. Dr. Eltjo Haselhoff: Yes I have. Jacco van der Worp: Have you studied it in any way? Dr. Eltjo Haselhoff: No, not really. When I study I a crop circle I prefer to do it well, i.e. either by visiting & sampling the formation, or by a geometric analysis. In this case I did not do either of the two. Jacco van der Worp: Would you have any indication as to its authenticity? Dr. Eltjo Haselhoff: I think that is very hard to judge from a photograph only. The design is quite straightforward; the hardest part is the lateral parts of the short trident at the base. It surely depicts a Menorah, with little doubt. The small object near to it has a pretty good resemblance with a specific type of Roman oil lamp. I don't kow what type exactly, but I remember seeing one in a museum in Tuscany. Ask an archeologist! Jacco van der Worp: And what is your opinion of a circle like that at first glance? Dr. Eltjo Haselhoff: As far as its "genuineness" would be considered, I cannot say anything. The apparent symbolism is clear, but that is a very subjective statement. I will perform a mathematical analysis of the proportions, time permitting. Perhaps something interesting can be revealed.
