Be Planet X Practical
The desire to stay abreast of Planet X reporting is like an addiction, and so we tend to feed it daily and often at the cost of other activities. However, if you are mindful of current global crop failures and the increasing prices at the grocery store, a more immediate concern is upon us – food.
For those of us in the industrialized nations of the world, that means higher prices and less selection, whereas, for those living in the Third World, this means war, starvation, and disease. Simply put, this is no longer a hypothetical concern for some indeterminate time in the future.
Food shortages and higher prices are happening now, and by winter, there will be no more equivocating. We can borrow all the fiat currency we want from the Central Banks, but water is water, and no amount of money can alter regional droughts and floods. Consequently, we can anticipate difficult times ahead.
Despite all this, I know that most of you who follow the topic are still limited in terms of preparedness due to denial pushback from family and friends and finances. Here are three suggestions about things you can do that will be meaningful in terms of preparedness without provoking denial pushback from family and friends.
Stockpile What You Like to Eat
Do you have favored brands of canned chili, tuna fish, vegetables and such? These are the things you begin to stockpile now. Shop for sales and when you purchase, buy cardboard flats and be sure to use a permanent marker to note the purchase on the cans. Then use them in FIFO (first in, first out) manner. This way, when food prices start to jump later this year, you have a buffer supply.
On the other hand, there is always the urge to purchase buckets of emergency food in the box stores. You may be able to buy one or two without causing a fuss, but more than that will trigger a confrontation.
For most deniers, cases of emergency foods stacked tall in the garage or basement will be seen as monuments to waste, because who gets excited about eating it?
Think about it. How many people buy five-gallon pails of emergency rations at a box store and then actually try living solely on that food for two weeks?
I’ve asked this question countless times over the years, and not one person answered that they had tried to eat this food for at least a few days. Rather, they find an inconspicuous niche to store it in, and that’s it. Here, I must say, mea culpa. I did the same thing when I created my first emergency food reserve.

Are You Stockpiling Death Food?
Many preppers use a simple “bang for the buck” equation for stocking their survival caches, where portion cost drives the process.
Consequently, inexpensive processed foods tend to be the value leader choice. Yet what I’ve learned as a result of my own 30-day personal stockpile test, is that many of us are stockpiling self-sabotaging, death food.
What I learned the hard way is that without fresh foods to balance your food intake, diets centered on packaged and canned GMO and processed foods will destroy your gut flora, and there goes the majority of your immune system. Then there are the alternating bouts of diarrhea, constipation, lethargy, bowel discomfort, dulled mind, and many other detrimental results. The bottom line is that had I been in an actual disaster, my two-week experiment could have killed any chance for survival.
This is the reason why stockpiling what you like to eat makes sense. On the front end, you’ll have the support of your spouse because you’re saving money over time and in a disaster, you’re not going to hear the incessant whining of finicky children who are unaccustomed to foods that are designed to last on the shelf for a decade or more.
Surviving the Planet X Tribulation: A Faith-Based Leadership Guide
When Everyone is Looking Up At the Sky and Saying “OMG What is That and What Do We Do?” You’ll Have the Answers and a Plan
This leadership guide is written for faith-based survival community leaders and those who are in awareness. It presents a non-violent strategy for enlightened continuity and comfort for those in survival villages of 100 or more people. Those who trust their inner guidance know that they must quickly take action, if they are to lead their flocks to safety. They must prepare to be decisive during the last possible window of opportunity and to make ready for what is coming.
FOR THOSE IN AWARENESS
Know this — you are in awareness because God intends for you to be part of the solution. Your role is to be that of a mentor, comforter, and teacher during the tribulation. Read and study this book thoroughly to prepare for your true mission. Then, when a spiritual leader you admire and respect sees the same clear and present danger as you, your path is simple. Hand that leader this book as you say, “You need a plan, and this is the plan that will work for what is coming. Please read it, and if you have any questions, I am always at your service.”
How long will canned foods remain safe to eat? While cans are often freshness dated for approximately 18 months on average, studies have shown that canned food that has been properly stored in a dry, dark and cool room can last up to 30 years or more. In fact, after 30 years, canned food that has been properly stored (and are not deformed or leaking) will still offer up to 70% of their original nutrition and still taste good. Ready.gov offers some excellent guidelines.

Suggested Emergency Food SuppliesConsider the following things when putting together your emergency food supplies:
- Choose foods your family will eat.
- Remember any special dietary needs.
- Avoid foods that will make you thirsty.
- Do not eat foods from cans that are swollen, dented or corroded, even though the product may look safe to eat.
- Do not eat any food that looks or smells abnormal, even if the can looks normal.
Organics will, of course, be the best choice for canned goods, but these products are not artificially flavor-enhanced. That is a plus in terms of survival comfort, but less flavor due to an absence of enhancers will be an issue, so be sure to set aside products to enhance flavor, such as hot sauce.
Start Gravity Filtering Your Water
When it comes to removing bacteria, impurities, and chemicals such as fluoride, Americans favor inline water filter systems that source the water from the local municipal supply to their homes. This is the most convenient way to do it, but there is a big drawback.
If the power grid fails catastrophically, there will be no more power to run city water system pumps, and the taps in your home will go dry, and your inline filters will be useless because they depend on water pressure to operate. At that point, you could be boiling ditch water to stay safely hydrated but keep in mind; you’ve got to use fuel to heat the water to a boil.
To put this in perspective, assume you have a family of four. You’ll use about four gallons of purified water for cooking, drinking and washing each day. That means you need enough fuel on hand to boil that much water each day, which does not include the fuel needed for other purposes as well.
Reduced technology dependence is why having a good quality gravity water filter is a big advantage. A gravity filter like the Big Berkey by Berkey Filters is a simple two-stage device. You pour water into the upper stage where the filters are installed, and it drains down in the lower stage where you can. Ergo, no fuel for heating is necessary.
How good is the quality and flavor of water from a gravity water filter? The Queen of England is only served water from a Berkey gravity filter because it creates the safest and best tasting water. In other words, put a little gravity in your life, and you and your loved ones can hydrate like royalty.
Already have an in-line system in your home? Set up a gravity filter in your kitchen for special purposes such as making water for tea and coffee. If you are serious about your coffee, a gravity water filter will improve the flavor in a very noticeable way that everyone will appreciate.
If you are a serious coffee aficionado (like yours truly) go the full distance and buy a gravity filter, organic shade-grown coffee beans, bean grinder, and a French Press. Granted, it’s more work than a can of less inexpensive ground coffee, but you won’t mind, because you’ll have a Starbucks in your kitchen.

When things go sideways, everyone will be running their taps to fill buckets, and bathtubs, so do not be surprised if the water pressure is low when you do so as well, as you should — after that, finding potable water may be very difficult, if not impossible.
However, if you find a large puddle with muddy water, collect the water and filter it through cloth to strain out the particulates. Then run the strained water through your gravity filter. The water will be as delicious as always.
A key point to remember about any water filter is the input source. If the water is muddy or discolored, the filter will remove the particulates, but this will clog them much sooner. So, for maximum usage, strain particulates from the water before you filter it. Also, be sure to have extra filter cartridges on hand.
Enjoy Survival-Related Hobbies
When it comes to survival, the knowing of things is more important than the having of things. Why? Because things you can find if you know what to look for and how to use it.
Useful knowledge, on the other hand, is not easily cultivated and takes time. The point here is if you cannot afford a hill of beans, then be worth your weight in beans. Knowledge is your edge.
What types of hobbies? There is the obvious survival related hobbies, such as amateur radio and marksmanship, but there are others that are useful, like paintball or nature hikes. Community classes are also useful, such as basic blacksmithing courses that teach you how to make serviceable axes and knives and weaving for example.
The point is that the experience you need cannot be found on Google. You need to do it because this is how you train your muscles and program neural connections in your brain.
So why make an effort? When things go sideways, couch potatoes will go straight into the fryer.
